Charges have been filed in a Quezon City court against three Pakistani nationals accused of selling P100,000 worth of Valium tablets to undercover narcotics agents last year.
Kashi Malik also known as Pakis and Waqar Younas, 25; Omar Nashir, 23; and Joni Alik aka Jawad Younas, 23; were arrested at their house on Filomena Street, North Susana Executive Village, in Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City, on Dec. 8, 2013.
Court records showed that PO3 Rolando Alieger Jr. contacted the foreigners, saying he wanted to buy Valium. When he met with them, the Pakistanis showed the undercover policeman their other “goods,” which consisted of five boxes of restricted medicine.
Also found in their possession were “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride, Diazepam, temazepam, ketamine, cocaine hydrochloride, methylphenidate, codeine, clonazepam and alprazolam.
In their defense, the Pakistanis said the policemen barged into their house without any warrant and stole P20,000 in cash and valuables. They also claimed that the lawmen demanded P20 million in exchange for their release.
But Assistant City Prosecutor Alessandro Jurado said he found no reason to reverse his recommendation that charges be filed, saying the suspects’ defense would be best appreciated in a full-blown trial.
