UC takes on USPF in CESAFI football

DEFENDING champions University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will try to clinch their first win today as they face the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Collegiate Football Championships at the Aboitiz Sportsfield in Subangdaku Mandaue City.

The Webmasters faltered in their frst outing after losing to the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Booters, 0-1, last weekend.

As a result, the defending champions are currently wallowing in the cellar with no points while the University of San Carlos (USC) leads the pack with six points after winning their first two matches.

UV, on the other hand, hopes to add to its points for a share of the lead when it faces the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R).

UV’s prospect is looking brighter this year with most of its players coming from the Abellana National School (ANS)./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
