3 pedicab drivers found shot dead near the National Museum

MANILA, Philippines—The bodies of three “kuliglig” (motorized pedicab) drivers were found stacked on a pedicab before dawn Thursday in Manila.

The fatalities bore gunshot wounds believed to be inflicted by four motorcycle-riding gunmen.

According to radio reports, the killing of the three drivers identified as Michael Cabayo, Baby Mata, and a certain “Toto” took place near the National Museum on Padre Burgos Avenue in Ermita.

Their bodies were later discovered by the police stacked on motorized
pedicab reportedly bearing the plate number HL 4036.

A Manila Police District Homicide section official, who requested anonymity, said in a phone interview that they are yet to identify the owner of the pedicab.

The “kuliglig” drivers were said to be plying the Manila City Hall to Escolta route.

Reports said the heavily tattooed Cabayo was allegedly a member of “Bahala Na” gang.

Police said the victims were brought to Nathan Funeral Parlor on Rizal Avenue for autopsy as the police launched an investigation.
