MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III got “very good” satisfaction rating from Super Typhoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan) victims despite criticisms of the government’s the slow response after its devastation.

According to the latest Social Weather station Survey (SWS), 73 percent of Yolanda victims said they are satisfied with the performance of the President during and after the onslaught of Yolanda.

The survey, which was conducted last December 11-16,  showed higher satisfaction ratings for President Benigno Aquino III among victims of Yolanda compared to those who were not victimized by the disaster.

The survey revealed that only 19 percent was dissatisfied by the President’s performance or a net satisfaction rating of +54, which is classified by SWS as “very good.”

Among non-victims, 69 percent were satisfied and 21 percent were dissatisfied, for a net satisfaction rating of +48 or “good”.

The survey also revealed that only 13 percent of the 1, 550 respondents answered yes to the question, “Kayo po ba o ang inyong pamilya ay NASALANTA nitong nakaraang bagyong Yolanda?” [Did you or your family suffer SERIOUS HARM during the recent typhoon Yolanda?)

The survey also revealed that 87 percent of households said they did not suffer serious harm from the super typhoon.

A previous SWS survey revealed that a higher self-rated poverty, food poverty, and hunger rates were recorded among non-victims of Yolanda.
