Did you know: Natividad Almeda Lopez, “Dean of Women Judges”

Today, Jan. 23, is the 37th death anniversary of Natividad Almeda Lopez who was known in her time as the “Dean of Women Judges.” Born on Sept. 8, 1892, in Manila, she became the first woman associate justice of the Court of Appeals in 1961. Lopez received the Presidential Award for Leadership in the Feminist Movement in 1955 and presidential merits in 1966 and 1968. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
