Duterte suspends Monday classes in Davao City due to Agaton
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has called off classes in preschool, elementary and high school levels in both public and private schools, scheduled for Monday (Jan. 20), due to the Tropical Depression Agaton.
This developed after the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Davao City, and the province of Davao del Sur under storm Signal No. 1..
The city’s rescue units remained on high alert, as of Sunday, for possible river overflows and mudslides as intermittent rains and overcast skies prevailed in the city throughout the day.
