7 provinces still under Signal No. 1

MANILA, Philippines—Seven provinces remained under public storm  Signal No. 1 as Tropical Depression Agaton moved southeast-ward with a speed of five kilometers per hour, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

In its latest bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of Agaton was located 185 kilometers east of Hinatuan Surigao del Sur or at 305 kilometers Southeasrt of Surigao City.

Caraga region and the provinces of Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas, Pagasa said.

Public storm signal number one remained up in Surigao del Norte, Siargao Island, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Province, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental and Compostella Valley, Pagasa said.

Agaton is expected to be at 185 kilometers east of Hinatuan City on Sunday afternoon and will be at 150 kilometers southeast of Surigao del Sur on Monday.

Pagasa said while Agaton may not directly hit the Visayas, moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms will persists in the area.

It  warned of flooding and landslides in “Yolanda” hit areas in the Visayas.
