No additional Philippine security measures on 9/11 anniversary—Palace exec

MANILA, Philippine – The government is not taking any additional security measure to those that are already in place on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States by the al-Qaeda terrorist network.

Deputy Palace spokesperson Abigail Valte said the police and the military have long tightened security measures in the country.

“In light of the travel advisory issued by the United States, we have taken note of it. While we are not upgrading our security alert for the PNP, we are closely watching and monitoring any development,” Valte said over government-run radio station dzRB.

“Because of this event, we have long tightened the measures the measures of the police and the military and their standing guard continues,” she added.
