LPA fatalities rise to 24 – NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines – With a low pressure area still lingering over Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has recorded 24 fatalities as of 6:00 a.m. Wednesday in the weather disturbance in the region.

The deaths occurred in Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region and Caraga Region where the brunt of the LPA was felt, according to a statement from the NDRRMC.

There were also 36 reported cases of injuries in the area and 12 missing persons.

According to the statement, 62,982 families or 299,351 people were affected by the LPA.
