MANILA, Philippines—With a low pressure positioned 100 kilometers east of Borongan, Samar, rainshowers accompanied by thunderstorms may prevail in parts of the country in the next 24 hours the state weather bureau said in its early-morning bulletin.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its weather bulletin, issued at 5 a.m. Wednesday, that the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga (composed of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Dinagat provinces) and Northern Mindanao would experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms that could trigger landslides and flashfloods.

Rains would tend to get weaker in parts of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces), Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan provinces), western Visayas and the rest of Mindanao.
