Manalang, a resident of Barangay (village) San Jose of the same municipality, was brought by the authorities to Holy Rosary Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Central Luzon police regional chief, meanwhile said in a radio report that they were not ruling out political motive behind the killing of Manalang.

He said the rival of the incumbent Macabebe Barangay chairman protested when he lost the election by only six votes.

The police, however, are still conducting further investigation.
