/ 02:19 AM January 10, 2014

The Institute of National Language established in 1937 by Commonwealth Act No. 184 is the first government agency to initiate the development of the Philippine national language. In January 1987, it was replaced by the Institute of Philippine Languages (IPL) by virtue of Executive Order No. 117 issued by President Corazon Aquino. On Aug. 14, 1991, IPL was replaced by the Commission on the Filipino Language (CFL) through Republic Act No. 7104. The CFL is currently located in the Watson Building of the Malacañang Palace Complex in San Miguel, Manila. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
