Inmate tries to kill self

A 46-YEAR-OLD inmate allegedly tried to commit suicide by slashing his wrists inside the comfort room of his detention cell in Barili town, southwest Cebu.

The inmate, who is facing parricide charges, is recuperating in a hospital in Cebu City.

Police said fellow inmates found the man bloodied and sprawled on the ground.

According to the investigation, the inmate became depressed when his brother threatened him a few days ago.

The inmate’s brother, who is detained at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, vowed to get back at him for filing rape charges against him.
