Workers affected by typhoon can file compensation benefits

LABOR Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, chair of the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), is encouraging employees and their dependents who were affected by the devastation brought by supertyphoon Yolanda to file their Employees’ Compensation claims.

Baldoz said the EC benefits include loss of income benefits, medical services, career’s allowance, rehabilitation services, and death with funeral benefits, which can be claimed from the ECC’s administering agencies — the Government Service Insurance System for the public sector workers or the Social Security System for the private sector employees.
