Displaced families seek relocation assistance
AT least 10 families sought assistance from the Talisay City government after their homes were demolished in sitio Kalubihan, barangay Tabunok, Talisay City yesterday morning.
Sheriff Michaelson Galici served the demolition order issued by Judge Mario Manayon of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 1 to Alberto Cabañero and other residents occupying a 3,000 square meter lot.
The complainant, Elizabeth Endriga, filed an ejectment case against the occupants.
While the residents didn’t oppose the demolition, some of them are planning to file a complaint against their lawyer for failing to pursue their claim. Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
Sinkhole at Talisay City barangay
A SINKHOLE was discovered near the house of one of the residents of sitio Ranger, Barangay Pooc, Talisay City yesterday afternoon.
Paterno dela Torre, one of the neighbors of home owner Roy Baba, discovered the sinkhole beside his concrete fence four days before it was reported to the authorities.
The sinkhole measured two feet in circumference and is three meters deep. Dela Torre, a Talisay City government employee, reported the incident to the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Flooding near Talisay City market
COLIS street leading to the Tabunok Public Market in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City was temporarily closed following complaints by vendors and nearby residents on the foul odor due to a broken drainage system.
Councilor Danilo Caballero said the odor worsens whenever it rains.
He said he talked with officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the city engineering department and the market administrator to resolve the problem.
