MANILA, Philippines—The Visayan region and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies and light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, resulting from a trough or extension of a low pressure area affecting Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration clarified, though, that there is no low pressure area or other weather disturbance in the country.

It added that the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon. Thus, strong to gale-force winds are expected to affect the eastern seaboards of southern Luzon and the Visayas.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern sections of southern Luzon and the Visayas, and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
