MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it is now hiring civilian employees to fill the posts occupied by policemen doing administrative works.

PNP spokesman Theodore Sindac said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the 7,400-nonuniformed personnel positions nationwide.

He said the PNP will need two Information Technology (IT) officers and one communications electronics per municipality to be equally distributed nationwide.

He added that applicants should be Civil Service eligible.
