MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DoJ) summoned Batangas Vice Governor Jose Antonio Marc Leviste II in connection with the drug raid that caused the seizure of some P420-million worth of shabu and arrested three suspects.

Leviste has been required to attend the January 9 preliminary investigation.

Aside from the vice governor, the DoJ already sent summons to former Batangas Governor Antonio Leviste, brother Conrad Leviste and a certain Jorge Gomez Torres.

The DoJ summoned the Levistes because the raid was conducted at their ranch in Batangas.

The former Batangas governor who was recently released on parole already denied he owned the 10,000 square meter property.

He already submitted documents to the DoJ showing that the ranch is owned by his relatives and being managed by his brother Conrad as corporate treasurer.
