MANILA, Philippines — Two vehicles caught fire after being hit by a wayward container van in Ortigas Friday although no one was hurt in the incident, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.
The van (plate number PWP 953), which lost control of its brakes, first hit a taxi cab (plate number TXC 982) along C5 at about12:40 p.m., said Vincent Lizada and Charlie Nosares of the MMDA Metrobase. The impact had caused the taxi to hit yet another car (plate number XRZ 236).
The cab and the car caught fire, which was put out after 15 minutes, they said.
MMDA enforcers and Pasig police are on the scene of the accident as of posting time.
