MANILA, Philippines – Mild earthquakes hit parts of Mindanao on Monday but damages were not expected, state volcanologists said.
At 12:25a.m., a 3.4 tectonic quake was recorded 38 kilometers northwest of Labason in Zamboanga del Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
It had a depth of 34 kilometers.
In Surigao del Norte, a tectonic quake with a magnitude of 2.7 was recorded 19 kilometers northeast of Basilisa at 8:19a.m.
The tremor had a depth of 90 kilometers.
No aftershocks were seen from both quakes, Phivolcs said.
