Sen. Guingona son hospitalized after car crash

MANILA, Philippines – The son of Senator Teofisto Guingona III is now confined at a Quezon City hospital after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a lamppost early Friday.

Pieyter Norman Guingona, 18, was reported by the police to have suffered serious injuries in the accident, which happened around 1 a.m. at the Katipunan flyover in Barangay (village) Loyola Heights.

The student was driving an Isuzu Alterra on the northbound lane when the vehicle veered sideways and hit a lamppost on the center island, a field report to the Quezon City Police District said.

He was rushed to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center for treatment and has been transferred reportedly to the St. Luke’s Medical Center.
