A REGION-WIDE manhunt will be conducted for a security guard accused of killing his fellow security guard and two others inside a bank in Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.

The killings happened on New Year’s Eve.

Chief Supt. Danilo Constantino, director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), ordered the immediate arrest of Berly Tudtud.

Constantino said there were reports that the suspect had already left Cebu province.

Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), said they have already coordinated with intelligence police offices in the region to locate Tudtud, who was accused of killing security guard Dean Deserto, his live-in partner Cecilia Torres, and bank clerk Genelyn Megabon.

The victims were killed inside Fairbank a few minutes before January 1.

Gillamac said the attack was premeditated.

Gillamac said revenge is being looked into as a possible motive since Tudtud bore a grudge against Deserto, whom he accused of reporting his tardiness to their superiors.

After the killing, Tudtud took P80,000 from the bank, police said.

Tudtud’s employment as a security guard was reportedly to be terminated last Jan. 1.

Witnesses told police that they saw Tudtud enter the bank around midnight of Dec. 31.

A woman was later heard screaming, “Ayaw Ber! (Ber don’t!).” Three gunshots were heard which witnesses initially thought were firecracker blasts.

Supt. Mariv Sanchez, chief of the Firearms Explosives Security Guards and Agencies Supervisory Section (FESAGSS), said they will check with the manager of Ricafort Security Agency to determine if Tudtud passed a neuro-examination and if he was a licensed security guard./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O.
