DRUG TEST FOR Carcar workers
WORKERS of the Carcar City Government were made to undergo a surprise drug test yesterday.
The employees had gathered for their general assembly but before they could leave the venue, all doors were closed and Mayor Nicepuro Apura announced the mandatory drug test for the more than 300 job order workers and 79 casual employees.
City-owned vehicles were made ready to take all the workers to the accredited drug testing facility. The result will be one of the requirements for the renewal of their contracts./CORRESPONDENT Gabriel C. Bonjoc
DRUG SUSPECTS FALL IN LAPU
TWO men were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City last Thursday afternoon.
Adjet Canencia, 33, and Genevie Dichos, 33, are considered street level drug pushers but further investigation will be made to ascertain any possible links to big-time drug syndicates, said Senior Insp. Rogelio Pineda Jr., chief of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group).
Police said the two men’s alleged cohort Fernando Pagobo eluded arrest.
Seized from Canencia’s possession were three sachets of suspected shabu and a .45 caliber pistol with six bullets.
