DSWD helps out-of-school youth get jobs

TWENTY-seven out-of-school youth (OSY) passed the training program provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Go Negosyo of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship.

Under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD and Negosyo Mo, Bukas Ko Program of Go Negosyo, the 27 OSY passed the initial screening and underwent a rigorous character enhancing program.

“We hope that you will continue to aspire for your dreams and never give up on your ambitions in life,” said DSWD Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat.

The OSY were identified from the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Cebu City whose ages range from 18-25 years old.

Out of the 56 applicants, 47 passed the initial screening and only 27 survived the training.

The training includes intrapersonal and interpersonal skills development, proper etiquette and how to answer job interview.
