5 headless bodies found in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Police authorities patrolling the coast off Manicahan village here recovered an outrigger with five headless bodies around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesperson of the Western Mindanao Police Office, said the decapitated bodies were in the advance state of decomposition already.

“They must be among the Badjao fishermen reported missing in December yet,” he said.

On December 25, a group of Badjao fishermen from Talabaan and Sangali villages here were ambushed while fishing off Payao town in Zamboanga Sibugay.

A number of them had been wounded and rescued by authorities while 9 others went missing.

Huesca said the recovered cadavers had been deposited in a funeral home here while their identities were being ascertained
