Aquino returns to work after short holiday break

MANILA, Philippines—After taking time off from all the hustle and bustle of leading a country, President Benigno Aquino III resumed his work on the first week of 2014, the Presidential Communications Operations Office said Friday afternoon.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said the President has been attending to paperwork and has been receiving briefing notes regarding various issues.

Aquino took a short vacation in Baguio City at his summer residence aptly named The Mansion then went to Tarlac City on December 30 to lead the rites on the martyrdom of National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
