Quezon City police investigators have identified one of two men who pulled a heist on Rizal Day at a beauty and wellness center and stole over P50,000 worth of cash and cell phones from its employees.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Batasan Hills station investigators identified one of the robbers as Ernesto Buyan Jr. of Caloocan City. He was identified by workers at Serendipity Salon and Wellness Center who were held up at 7 p.m. on Monday inside the shop at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Marlboro Street in Barangay (village) East Fairview.
Reports from the Batasan Hills police station showed that seven employees of the salon were robbed at gunpoint by two men who posed as customers.
Case investigator PO3 Danilo Tuscano said in a report that the robbers drew guns and announced the heist.
They divested the employees of over P21,000 in cash; five cell phones worth a total of P18,500 and a watch valued at P700 before fleeing.
The victims immediately reported the robbery to the police and during the investigation, they identified one of the thieves through his photo in the police files of suspected criminals.
Operatives of the QCPD Batasan Hills station are conducting follow-up operations for the arrest of Buyan and his cohort.
