3 shot in Taguig during brawl

MANILA, Philippines–Three men were shot Tuesday morning during a scuffle with a group of men in Taguig City.

A Taguig City police official, who requested anonymity, said in a phone interview that the three victims were ganged up by eight men at 8:45 a.m. in Palar Village’s 31st street in Barangay (village) Pinagsama. Then shots rang out and the three were hit.

He said of the eight men, two are now in the custody of police.

The men who fired the guns, however, are still at large.

Police said the victims and the assailants live in the same neighborhood.

Taguig police cannot confirm whether the victims survived the shooting but its official said they were rushed to hospital after the incident.

But in a radio report, the doctor in a Makati hospital attending to the three victims said the three died.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
