MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) announced Monday that it has issued special Year of the Horse stamps to welcome the Chinese New Year.
“The public can now start welcoming the Year of the Horse with the PHLPost’s recently released Chinese New Year stamps,” it said in a statement.
“The Year of the Horse stamps, each measuring 40mm X 30mm, were printed by Amstar Co. Inc. The stamps were done by PHLPost in-house layout artists Jose Antonio A. Jayme and Jan Michael A. Manuel,” it said.
The stamps, priced P10 and P30, have been released since December 2. More than 7,000 souvenir sheets, priced at P80 each have been printed.
“People born in the Year of the Horse are extremely animated, active and energetic,” PHLPost said.
The Chinese New Year begins on January 31, and it is as a special non-working holiday.
“Stamps and souvenir sheet and official first day covers are now available at all PHLPost Post Shop and Post Offices nationwide,” it said.
