TWO YAW-YAN ArDigma Martial Arts Federation Cebu fighters impressed American fight fans after scoring stunning wins in their US debuts during the undercard of the ‘Knuckle Up’ card last Saturday in Vallejo, California.
Yaw-Yan Fighting Challenge Championship (YFCC) junior lightweight champion Renan ‘Limbas’ Noblefranca and unbeaten Jordan ‘Labuyo’ Balcita made the country proud with victories over bigger foreign foes.
Noblefranca’s tenacity inside the ring was once again showcased after he forced American Muay Thai fighter Kenny Epstein to surrender in the second round.
Balcita, on the other hand, connected a crushing straight back kick to the body of American Sergio Ramirez, who was unable to get back on his feet in the one-minute mark of the first round.
“Their opponents were bigger and very tough but we still managed to prevail in dominating fashion,” Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu chief instructor Johnlery Caniga said. “I’m really proud and happy because our fighters not just introduced themselves but also showcased the best of Yaw-Yan ArDigma in the US. Their wins initiated the start of a very good future for the both of them here in the US. We are planning to participate in more kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts tournaments here next year.”
Aside from fighting, the Team Yaw-Yan ArDigma will also conduct a series of seminars and clinics in some parts of California. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
