Did you know: Presidential oath

Today, Dec. 30, used to be known as Inauguration Day. Article VII, Section 4, of the 1935 Constitution designated Dec. 30 as the end of the term of the President and Vice President of the Philippines and the start of the administration of their successors. This was changed after the ratification and implementation of the 1973 Constitution when then President Ferdinand Marcos took his oath of office for the third time on June 30, which is also the date set in the 1987 Constitution.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
