Children toy with grenade
A POLICEMAN recovered a hand grenade from a group of children who were caught playing with the explosive device in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City Friday afternoon.
The hand grenade could still explode if the its pin is removed or struck with a hard object, said PO1 Roel Vederes of the Marigondon Police Station.
Police said a resident happened to pass by a group of children toying with a round object.
The children placed the object on a concrete wall. Upon discovering that the object was a grenade, the resident immediately called the police.
Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics cordoned off the area and impounded the grenade for proper disposal.
