Oishi’s win over Banario is ONE FC’s KO of the Year
THE knock out win of Koji Oishi over the Philippines’ first MMA world champion, Honorio Banario, in the 3:17 mark of the 3rd round in their Featherweight World Championship match during the ONE FC: Moment of Truth card last Dec. 6 at the MOA Arena in Manila was declared the best knockout win of the year by One FC.
Oishi landed several significant strikes in the second round, and finished the job in the third with a right hook during the match to become the first champion in ONE FC history to successfully defend his world championship title.
Filipino fighter Kevin Belingon’s KO win over Spain’s David Aranda in 2:08 of the opening round also in the ONE FC: Moment of Truth card, on the other hand, was adjudged as second best of the year, while Alain Ngalani’s knock-out victory in the 4:32 mark of the first round versus Mahmoud Hassan during the One FC “Champions and Warriors” card last Sept.15, 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia came in as the third best KO victory of the year.
Completing the top five KO wins of the year are Nobutatso Suzuki’s knock-out victory over Phil Baroni in the “Rise to Power” card last May 31, 2013 in Manila at number four, and Leandro Ataides’ knock-out win over Brayan Rafiq in the “Warrior Spirit” card last Nov.13, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at no.5.
