2014 Kopiko Supercross slated

AFTER its very successful inaugural year, the action-packed Kopiko Astig 3-in-1 Supercross Series is set to amaze Filipino motocross enthusiasts anew in 2014 with another adrenaline pumping all-year series that will kick off here in Cebu City.

The first leg is tentatively scheduled on Jan. 25-26 at the South Road Properties (SRP) according to Jake Alcordo of the organizing Man and Machine Racing Promotions.

2013 Rider of the Year awardee and the inaugural leg’s overall champion Glenn Aguilar will defend his title against tough rivals Jon Eleazar Adlawan of Cebu and Rhowell Matias “Bornok” Mangosong IV of Pangasinan as well as other top motocross riders from around the country who are hoping to finally nail the titles in a series of legs that will visit various parts of the Philippines.

A quick recap of what happened to this year’s entire series saw Aguilar winning seven out of 11 legs to claim the coveted ROY title while Adlawan capped off his campaign by placing second overall followed by Mangosong IV.

Just like 2013, huge cash prizes will also be at stake in each leg that will feature 13 categories including the centerpiece pro-open and pro-lite divisions. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
