Heavy traffic on C5 as DPWH repairs road

MANILA, Philippines–Motorists are experiencing heavy traffic along the C5 Road as the Department of Public Works and Highways is conducting an emergency repair along the southbound lane.

MMDA-Metrobase said the reblocking was being implemented from Katipunan to Libis area.

“Kailangan nang ayusin yung kalsada para iwas disgrasya kasi masyadong matalas na ang layers [There is a need to repair the road to avoid accidents because the layers are sharp],” the MMDA said.

The MMDA admitted that they have been receiving calls from angry motorists complaining about the heavy traffic that started earlier Saturday.

“Ang daming tumatawag at nagagalit samin. Bakit daw traffic, eh hindi naman namin kasalanan yun. DPWH ang nagsasagawa ng emergency repair,” the MMDA said.

The MMDA said the reblocking would continue until repair works are finished.
