7 killed in separate Nasugbu truck accidents
MANILA, Philippines – Seven people were killed and eight others were injured in two separate vehicular accidents in Nasugbu in Batangas on Friday, police said.
Police said three people were killed after a 16-wheeler truck went out of control along a descending highway in Nasugbu and rammed a post.
The fatalities were identified as truck driver Rowel Santos and his helpers LJ Gulila and Alvino Gulila, both from Porac in Pampanga.
Four people were also killed and eight others were hurt when an 18-wheeler truck lost control and rammed five other vehicles on the same day and location, police report said.
Investigators said the the truck was loaded with metals during the accident when its load rolled in front of the truck and pinned the driver and the two helpers inside the vehicle.
Police have identified three of the four fatalities as Christopher Delaun, truck driver; Charlie Fermin, truck helper; Celedonio Kasilig; and another truck helper who remains unidentified.
