Lee Kuan Yew School PH alumni meet
AROUND 30 alumni of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Lee Kuan Yew School) in the Philippines gathered last Dec. 7 for a reception hosted by Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines VP Hirubalan and his wife, Mano Hirubalan at the Singapore Residence in North Forbes Park, Makati City.
The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore offers graduate-level education. More than 100 Filipinos composed mostly of scholars have attended the school. Applications for next year’s courses are now open until Jan. 15. More information is available at www.lkyspp.nus.edu.sg.
The gathering marked the formal inauguration of the Philippine chapter of the Lee Kuan Yew School Alumni Association.
Ambassador Hirubalan suggested that one of the association’s first projects could be to explore how it could support existing recovery and rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by supertyphoon Yolanda.
Zak Yuson, director for Citizen Journalist at Rappler.com was elected president of the association. His fellow officers are Pasay City Regional Trial Court Judge Rowena Tan, Department of Budget and Management consultant Patrick Lim, and Nicole Bacolod of the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone and Freeport Authority.
