3 hurt, 600 families homeless in Muntinlupa fire
MANILA, Philippines–Three people were injured and roughly 600 families were rendered homeless on Wednesday, Christmas Day when fire broke out at a residential area in Muntinlupa City, a fire official said Thursday.
Senior Fire Officer 1 Roy Arbis of Muntinlupa-Bureau of Fire Protection identified the injured victims as Emerson Belen, 31; Joey del Rosario, 29; and Albert Agos, 34.
The victims sustained laceration wounds when fire broke out at Purok 6, Vivo Compound, Bayanan, Muntinlupa City at 7:48 p.m., and destroyed around 300 houses.
While the cause of fire is still being investigated, Arbis said the blaze may have started from the house occupied by the Reyes family.
The fire reached fifth alarm before it was put out at 11:25 p.m.
