Suspect arrested in Pasig cop slay
MANILA, Philippines–One of the suspects in the killing of a policeman in Pasig City on Saturday was arrested late Monday afternoon.
Police Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza, the city’s chief of police, identified the suspect as Fillip Azreen Abejuela.
A report said Abejuela was arrested on Mercedes Avenue in Barangay (village) San Miguel around 3:15 p.m.
According to the police, Abejuela was positively identified by a witness as one of those who fired at SPO3 Graciano Delosata on Villa Rosa Street in Barangay (village) Bambang at 6:40 a.m. A closed-circuit television camera in the area was also able to place Abejuela at the crime scene, the police said.
Delosata, a member of the intelligence unit who was about to retire from his post, died on the spot.
Rariza did not say what the motive for the killing was, but he said Abejuela had already identified two of his accomplices.
