MANILA, Philippines — Another set of perjury and falsification of documents cases has been filed against former Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn before the Office of the Ombudsman for his alleged failure to declare ownership of 38 vehicles in his Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) from 2004 to 2012.
The four-page second supplemental complaint-affidavit for perjury, falsification and violations of Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees was filed by Berteni Causing, president of the Alab ng Mamamahayag (ALAM) and the Hukuman ng Mamamayan Movement Inc. (HMMI).
In the complaint, Causing accused Hagedorn of failing to declare motorcycles, hauling vehicles, and even luxury cars like BMW sedan in his SALNS for nine straight years.
Causing earlier filed the first complaint against Hagedorn before the Ombudsman on Oct. 23, 2013 for alleged nom-declaration of 59 real properties in his SALNS.
This was followed by a supplemental complaint for non-declaration of six business corporations where the name of Hagedorn appeared as a stockholder. Causing said Hagedorn has also been listed as an incorporator and stockholder of a Jollibee franchise in Puerto Princesa city.
In the second supplemental complaint, Causing mentioned a Volvo 1997 model with plate number UTD-387; a Nissan Patrol Super Wagon 1994 model with plate number WAP-293; a Toyota Land Cruiser Wagon 1997 with plate number ZAJ-898; and a BMW 750 IL Sedan with plate number ZGE-801.
“This second supplemental complaint affidavit also forms an integral part of the complaint-affidavit that was first to have been filed by me,” Causing said.
