Jeepney driver shot dead in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines — A jeepney driver was shot dead by his passenger in Pasig City before dawn Thursday, police said.

Maximo Perez, 47, was driving his jeepney at around 4:20 a.m. along San Agustin Street in Barangay (village) Pinagbuhatan where his passenger shot him in the head before fleeing from the scene, said Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Francisco Manalo.

Perez died on the spot.

Pasig City police are conducting an investigation into the incident, said Manalo.
