Fire ongoing at Paranaque warehouse

MANILA, Philippines—Firefighters are still putting out the fire at a warehouse in Paranaque City that has affected two other adjacent establishments early Monday as the blaze was placed under Task Force Bravo, a city fire officer said.

Fire Officer 1 Aileen Andres of Paranaque City’s Bureau of Fire Protection said the blaze started at the warehouse of Maldive Trading Corporation in Barangay (village) Sto. Nino at 1:12 a.m.

The blaze was placed under Task Force Bravo at 6:40 a.m. as the buildings of Ceva Logistics and KLG were affected by the fire.

“When this fire alarm is declared, this means that fire trucks from district offices under the National Capital Region-BFP are already being deployed to respond to the fire . . . over 10 firetrucks are already needed,” Andres said.

In this case, she said, firetrucks from cities of Valenzuela and Mandaluyong were among those that have been sent out to put out the fire.

No one was reported hurt, Andres noted.

A radio report, meanwhile, said the Maldive Trading Corp. is allegedly owned by Buhay Partylist Representative William Irwi Tieng.

No other information was available as of posting.
