DESPITE the devastation caused by supertyphoon Yolanda, Bogo City Hall employees and officials received their Christmas bonus last Friday.
All elected officials were given P15,000, while regular employees were given P10,000 and contractual and job order workers were given P5,000.
“This is not just a bonus but a reward to everyone because they have been our work force here before and after Yolanda,” City Administrator Carlo Logarta said.
Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr., said the bonus covered 537 employees including the regular and job order employees. They each received a ham as well.
The budget for this year’s bonus is P3.8 million compared to last year’s P5 million.
No Christmas party for employees was held in view of the widespread typhoon damage. Instead, a Mass was offered followed by speeches of officials.
Bogo City sustained more than P700 million in damage caused by supertyphoon Yolanda last Nov. 8. Correspondent Michelle Joy L. Padayhag
