Archers try to force playoff for last UAAP semis seat

Games today (Araneta Coliseum)

1 p.m. – NU vs. La Salle

3 p.m. – FEU vs. UST

THE La Salle Green Archers will try to keep their flickering hopes for a Final Four stint alive when they take on the National University Bulldogs today in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Archers remained in contention for the next round and are hoping to force a playoff for the last ticket with the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers. However, their chances remain slim as aside from winning against the Bulldogs today, they must also defeat the Far Eastern University Tamaraws on Sunday and pray that UST loses its next two outings in order for the playoff to materialize.

Meanwhile, FEU will aim to tie the Adamson Falcons for second place in the standings when they face the Tigers in the main offering today. The Tamaraws, who hold an 8-4 card are just half a game behind the Falcons, who tote a 9-4 record.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
