Meeting to evaluate 2014 karatedo activities set

AFTER the successful holding of the Union of Philippine Karatedo Organization Incorporated’s 3rd National/Invitational Open Karatedo Championships at the J Centre Mall’s Activity Center over the weekend, the region’s governing body of the sport will hold another activity before the year ends.

Rolando Basergo, the man behind the holding of the tournament at J Centre, said they will be holding a special meeting this Dec.30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Food Express Open Lobby of J Center Mall to evaluate and set up their 2014 tournaments and activities.

Among the activities to be held aside from the meeting is the upgrading and promotional blackbelt examinations of the fighters of the different karate clubs who are members of the Region 7 Karatedo Federation, UPKORI-CVUKOI.

Basergo said the meeting is compulsory for all the member clubs, while the upgrading and promotional blackbelt examination is optional.

Teams expected to join are the Advocacy in the Strengthening of Karatedo (ASK), the University of the Visayas (UV) karate club, the Labogon Karate Club of Mandaue City (LKC-MC), Arnis-Shotukan Karatedo Society (ASKS), AUF-Talisay, Mandaue City Karatedo Club and the Japan Karate Association (JKA)-Headquarters.  /Correspondent JADE S.
