QUEZON City residents are in for a treat on May 12 as they will be getting a 50 percent discount on movie tickets in selected theater houses.
The incentive—courtesy of the National Cinema Association of the Philippines—is in celebration of Mayor Herbert Bautista’s 43rd birthday.
Movie goers need only to present a valid identification card to prove that they live in Quezon City to avail themselves of the discount.
The incentive, however, will be valid only for the first screening of movies at SM malls, Trinoma, Eastwood, Gateway, AliMall, Waltermart and Robinson’s Fairview.
In addition, it will cover only regular 35 mm movies, and not films shown in IMAX theaters like 3D films.
Other activities lined up for Bautista’s birthday include a job fair today at the Quezon City Hall plaza from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the Cultural and Tourism Affairs Office will also hold its own trade fair.
City Hall employees, on the other hand, can enjoy free medical and wellness services such as cataract screening, colon consultation checkup, blood pressure, body mass index and posture analysis courtesy of Healthway Medical.
Health personnel will also conduct a body age test, designed to check one’s current body age, at the City Hall Bulwagan from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in cooperation with Youthopia Media Philippines Inc.
In addition, the Alay kay Inay ng Lungsod Quezon Foundation will sponsor a one-day beauty enhancement and relaxation treat for city government workers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday at the city hall covered walk.
They will be treated to haircuts, facials and massages.
