Statement by Philippine Daily Inquirer Publisher Raul C. Pangalangan

The Inquirer is issuing this statement in reaction to charges that its report on the Dasmariñas Village incident was false, biased and malicious. The Inquirer report was based on the actual video taken of the incident and on interviews with police officers who were present during the incident itself.

The video has been posted online via INQUIRER.net and also through the TV networks that have asked for permission to broadcast the recording. The Inquirer urges anyone who disagrees with the Inquirer report to view the video so that they can personally interpret the events and arrive at conclusions on their own. The Inquirer reported the facts solely in the interest of the truth, without any malice whatsoever against any person shown in the video.
