NBI finds stacks of fake Viagra, etc. in Pasig raid

/ 03:25 AM December 20, 2013

Three truckloads of counterfeit medicines were seized in a raid Thursday on a Pasig City residence by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation.

Based on NBI estimates, the cache of drugs, including fake Viagra and Ketamine, could fetch P150 million if sold to unsuspecting buyers. The NBI found the contraband at a house on Wallnut Street, Greenwoods, Pasig.

No arrests were made as there was no one in the house when the agents arrived with a search warrant issued by Judge Lyliha Abella Aquino of Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 24.

The officer on case, special agent Glen Lascaran, said the smuggled items had been traced to foreigners led by Kareem Ahmed Postal. Ronald Aguto, head of the NBI-Computer Crimes Division, said some of the fake drugs may have already been sold over-the-counter at small stores.—Nancy C. Carvajal
