MANILA, Philippines—Rains are forecast in Luzon and Mindanao on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon and the trough of a low pressure area affecting southern Mindanao, the state weather bureau said.
“The regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan and Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and the province of Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains. Davao Region, Soccksargen and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thundertorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
