Kopiko Supercross returns to Cebu for final leg
ALL roads lead back to Cebu as the final leg of the action-packed “Kopiko Astig 3-in-1” Supercross unfolds on Dec. 21-22 at the South Road Properties (SRP).
Cebuano motocross fans will be treated to adrenaline-pumping action between chief rivals Glenn Aguilar, Cebuano Jon Eleazar Adlawan and Rhowell Mangosong IV as they go for a win to decide who would bring home the Rider Of the Year award.
The first leg of the nationwide, year-long series was hosted by Cebu last January during the Sinulog festival at the SRP with the visiting Danish riders dominating the Pro Open and International categories.
Aguilar, leading by a hairline in the ROY race, is expected to face tough competition from Adlawan who vowed to redeem himself in front of his home fans after suffering stinging losses in the previous legs held in Dumaguete and Tacloban City. Mangosong IV on the other hand, is considered the series dark horse after top finishes in the last two legs.
The country’s top female motocross riders Pia Gabriel, RK Cuesta and Daya Oliveros are also disputing the top honor in the female division.
Around a hundred riders are expected to join the 13-division race that will be handled technically by Man and Machine Racing Promotions of Jonas Adlawan. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
